Hi Susan:
Informative and fun website…Where are you going with it?
I am a 25 year condo owner in Dewey Beach.
A friend told me about your website and I think I met you at the mini-show in RB last month at the convention center.
We have reinsulated, installed solar fans or greenswitch (greenswitch.tv) or did Energy Audits in over 350 homes on the Delmarva shore area over the past two years….over 1100 regionally. We are the only approved HUD Reflective Insulation and have performance guarantee’s on all of our products.
Our sales reps are GreenandSave.com certified and we do in-home energy parties for the DOE and One of the Gore Companies.
How can we team up and make money together? I have a couple of idea’s!

You are very confused. LED’s do not have mercury in them! They are solid state devices. No gases or vapors. Instead, you are thinking about Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) which do have a very tiny amount of Hg (chemical symbol for mercury).

me again – also wanted to let you know we are working with DelTech’s Environmental Training Center on a one-semester (48-hour) Introduction to Sustainable Development course. Like Green4Green, it is financed with federal stimulus dollars. We hope to launch in Fall 2011 and make it a certificate program for which professionals (ASLA, AIA, APA, etc.) can get CE credits. We’re at the beginning stages, though, of planning the course modules and would love to get input from the green building community.

Susan, I love your blog – hope to make it to the next green drinks. At Collin O’Mara’s direction, I worked with the Home Buidlers and the Sustainable Energy Utility to launch Green for Green. Just a note, only subdivisions located outside the state’s Level 4 (rural) area are eligible for the program, with a few exceptions. Most of the registered subdivisions to date (since the program launched) are in Sussex County, though.
